Mr. Pennington is the Executive Director of the Center for Disability Law & Policy. CDLP administers the Pennsylvania Client Assistance Program. Since 1985, Mr. Pennington has served as the advocate in Pennsylvania for people with disabilities seeking services from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services, and other programs funded under the Rehabilitation Act. He is currently a member of the Governor's Cabinet and Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities and has served on numerous committees and workgroups focusing on the employment of people with disabilities. In addition to his advocacy, Mr. Pennington has been a disability rights attorney for more than twenty seven years. He concentrates his practice in the areas of civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts with special emphasis on litigating claims in the areas of employment rights, civil rights, equal justice, constitutional torts, and veterans appeals. He has written many articles relating to disability law and is a frequent lecturer. A 1979 graduate from Temple University School of Law, he is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Pennington is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations and serves on various Bar committees concerned with the delivery of legal services to persons with disabilities. Steve Pennington and Jamie Ray regularly serve as co-counsel with Williams Cuker Berezofsky in discrimination cases. They are not employed by Williams Cuker Berezofsky. |
